Between action and humour, the peregrinations in Tibet of a trio of colourful characters: the young Parisian bourgeoise, the captain of the NGIG and the Tibetan monk. After a hostage-taking, Alex, the captain of the NGIG obsessed by his job, must save a Tibetan personality close to the Dalai Lama. A succession of events leads him to the high Himalayan plateaux flanked by a celebrity journalist, Charlotte Bâton de la Butte, and a Buddhist monk. Those characters who have absolutely nothing in common will discover the Khampa nomads and a mysterious naldjorpa, « a man with secret words ». At the end of the adventure are other paths that neither Alex nor Charlotte thought to take one day! Monique Plantier, 56, is an associate professor of visual arts in Ardèche. She has been fond of Buddhist philosophy for more than 20 years. « Frères du vent » won her, as a finalist, the Femme Actuelle literary prize in 2009 and the Bernard Palissy First Novel literary award in 2010. Lydie Desestret, 43, is a law and English teacher in Valence. She has a passion for literature and foreign languages.
